What We Found After 3 Months Testing
- H100 SXM at $2.20–2.40/hr is real and available with reasonable frequency
- Uptime: 99.1% on data-center hosts, ~97% on community hosts
- Performance: H100 SXM training throughput at 97% of theoretical max
- Network: 8–12 Gbps to S3, generally good with one networking incident in 3 months
- Support: Email-only, 4–24 hour response times — slower than Lambda Labs
Pros and Cons
- ✓ 10–25% cheaper H100 pricing than Lambda Labs and CoreWeave
- ✓ Per-second billing (no hour rounding)
- ✓ No egress fees (unlike AWS/GCP/Azure)
- ✓ Good API for programmatic provisioning
- ✗ Email-only support, no chat or phone
- ✗ Less polished UI than RunPod or Lambda Labs
- ✗ No serverless — all persistent VMs
- ✗ Limited pre-built ML environment templates
Verdict
TensorDock is a legitimate option for cost-conscious teams running training jobs with checkpointing enabled. The ~$2.20–2.40/hr H100 SXM pricing is real. The trade-off is reduced polish and slower support compared to Lambda Labs or CoreWeave. Rating: 4.1/5 — Excellent value, acceptable reliability.
